Senator Hills Selected for Prestigious Edgar Fellows Program

Senator Darby Hills (R-Barrington Hills) has been selected as one of 41 public policy leaders from across Illinois to join the 2025 class of the Edgar Fellows Program.

Founded by former Governor Jim Edgar, the program brings together a diverse group of leaders to engage in executive leadership training focused on respectful collaboration and bipartisan problem-solving. Participants represent a range of backgrounds, including government, business, labor, and nonprofits, and come from all corners of the state.

“I’m honored to be included in this year’s Edgar Fellows class and grateful for the opportunity to learn from others who are deeply committed to serving Illinois,” said Senator Darby Hills. “This experience will help me build strong working relationships and bring new perspectives back to the people I represent.”

During the weeklong program, Fellows will engage with experienced policy experts and one another on key challenges facing Illinois — from workforce development and public safety to healthcare and fiscal issues. The initiative emphasizes finding common ground and building lasting connections among leaders to shape a stronger future for the state.

The Edgar Fellows Program has grown to include more than 500 alumni who continue to collaborate long after their training, forming a statewide network of ethical, solution-driven leadership.
