Mom & Meals Drive

No one gives more of themselves than the moms working hard every day to make ends meet. As someone who was raised by a single mom, I know firsthand the challenges they face. This season, let’s come together to give back to them, and to families throughout our community who could use a helping hand.

From now until December 15th, I’m hosting the Moms and Meals Drive 🛒 to collect food and essential household items for single moms and families in need.

Drop off details:
📍 District office: 795 Ela Road, Suite 208, Lake Zurich
⏳ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Want to donate but do not have extra time? Visit our Amazon Wish List to give directly online! All items will be sent to the district office.
Amazon wish list: Amazon Wish List – Darby Hills

All donations will be distributed to local food pantries throughout the district to help support those who support others. Together, we can make a real difference.

Successful Veterans Luncheon & Expo in Lake Zurich

What an incredible weekend at the Veterans Luncheon & Expo alongside a veteran himself, Senator Craig Wilcox!

Thank you to Rapid Relief Team US for providing lunch, the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County for sharing important resources, the talented Willows Academy choir for their inspiring performance, and K9s For Veterans, Nfp for their incredible work supporting our heroes.

It was wonderful to see our community come together to honor and support those who have served — what a success!

Strong beginnings lead to strong futures!

Thank you to the Advance Preschool Inc. in Hoffman Estates for showing me around and educating me more on your commitment to early childhood education!

Learned More About the Mission Behind Avantara Lake Zurich

I appreciated touring Avantara Lake Zurich with Legacy Healthcare to learn more about the challenges and successes in providing quality, patient-centered care.

Conversations like these help guide my work in Springfield.

IDOT Warns about Text Message Scams

Illinois residents are being warned about an ongoing phishing scam disguised as a text message from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

The scam claims recipients owe money for traffic tickets, toll violations, or other unpaid fines. Some messages threaten consequences such as additional fees or legal action if the recipient does not respond immediately.

State officials emphasize that IDOT does not send unsolicited text messages demanding payment for tolls, tickets, or penalties. Legitimate notices involving fines are sent through the mail.

Drivers who are concerned about unpaid tolls or fees are advised to verify their status directly by logging into their Illinois Tollway account.

Suspicious messages should not be answered or clicked. Instead, residents are encouraged to report phishing attempts to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov or to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
