State Senator Darby Hills (R-Barrington Hills) is highlighting major infrastructure investments coming to communities across the 26th District as part of Illinois’ newly proposed $50.6 billion multi-year construction plan.
“Investing in our infrastructure is investing in the future of our communities,” Senator Hills said. “I’m proud to see significant resources directed to the 26th District, ensuring our tax dollars are coming back home to strengthen the roads and bridges we rely on every day.”
Under the Fiscal Year 2026-31 Rebuild Illinois Highway Improvement Program, District 26 is set to receive funding for 69 total projects, representing an investment of more than $407 million over the next six years.
For the 26th District, the plan includes:
- 63 state highway projects with an estimated cost of more than $393 million.
- 6 local highway projects totaling more than $14 million in improvements.
Senator Hills continued, “Improving our roads and bridges means safer travel, less time stuck in traffic, and stronger connections between our communities.”
