Springfield, IL – State Senator Darby Hills (R-Barrington Hills) is highlighting two bipartisan bills she co-sponsored that were recently signed into law. The measures improve consumer transparency for parents and strengthen protections for students during medical emergencies.
“Parents deserve to have confidence in the products they buy and the places where their children spend their time,” said Senator Hills. “These two new laws provide practical protections that help families make informed decisions and give schools the tools they need to respond when it matters most.”
Co-sponsored by Senator Hills, House Bill 4702 increases transparency by requiring diaper manufacturers to disclose ingredients on product packaging sold in Illinois, while House Bill 4247 expands access to emergency asthma medication during school athletic practices and competitions, helping schools respond more quickly when a student experiences a medical emergency.
“As a mom, I understand that parents want to feel confident that the products they use are safe and that their children will be protected when they’re at school,” said Senator Hills. “I was proud to co-sponsor both of these bipartisan measures because they provide families with practical tools and greater peace of mind, whether that’s knowing what’s in the products they buy or ensuring schools are better prepared to respond during a medical emergency.”
Both measures received bipartisan support in the General Assembly and were signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker on June 26th, 2026.
