State Senator Darby Hills joined NEWSMAX to discuss e-bike safety and regulation:
“As a mom, this is personal to me. We’ve tragically lost young people in our own communities in incidents involving these devices, and parents and law enforcement have been sounding the alarm. Technology moved faster than our laws. Some electric devices capable of going 40 or even 50 miles per hour were falling into gaps in Illinois law. That’s why I worked with the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office to get commonsense statewide safety standards signed into law. We want kids to enjoy these devices, but most importantly, we want them coming home safely.”
